Mouse Controls
Note: The Silverlight version of the game differs from these controls as detailed in its separate section.
Left Button:
- Selection:
- Click on a unit or structure to select it.
- Click and drag the selection box around a group of units to select those units. (You cannot normally box-select buildings, although turrets can be box-selected when using the Alt modifier, below.)
- Hold down Shift to add units to the current selection. This works in conjunction with any of the following modifiers.
- Hold Alt and click on a unit to select all units of that type on the screen.
- Hold Alt while box-selecting units to select only units of the same type as the first unit selected.
- Hold Ctrl and Alt and click on a unit to select all units of that type across the entire map.
- Orders:
- Click on the game screen or mini-map with units selected to order those units to move to the targeted location.
- Hold and drag on the mini-map to scroll the view window around.
- Hold Shift and click on the mini-map to scroll the view to that location.
- Click while targeting a command to select a target for that command.
- Hold Shift and click on a building to set that structure as the primary facility.
- Double-click on a building to set that structure as the primary facility.
- Hold Ctrl and click on a target with units selected to issue an Attack command to those units.
Right Button:
- Click anywhere on the game screen to clear the current selection.
- Click to cancel special cursors, such as the repair cursor.
- Click, hold, and drag on the game screen to scroll the view.
- Click, hold, and drag on the Build Menu to scroll the menu.
Other:
- Move the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen to scroll the game screen.
- Hover the mouse cursor motionlessly over a unit, building, or most buttons in the interface to see additional information about that object.
