Primary Facilities

When you select to train a unit off the Build Menu when you do not have a building selected, the unit is trained at your primary facility. By default, the primary facility is the building of that type that you most recently constructed. You can identify your primary facility by looking for the “(P)” by its name that appears when you hover your cursor over the structure.

When you complete construction on a unit-producing structure, that building is set as your primary facility automatically, unless you have already manually assigned another structure as the primary facility instead, in which case your setting will not be changed.

To assign a primary facility, hold down Shift and click on the building. Alternately, you can double-click the left mouse button on the structure to achieve the same thing. You cannot directly assign a building that is presently under construction, but unless you’ve already assigned another primary facility, the new building will become the primary facility once the construction is complete.
