Resource Meters
Resource meters keep track of your current levels of power and water. Power MeterOn the left is the power rating. It is a vertical meter with notches on it. Each Power Generator you construct supplies one notch of power. If you completely fill that generator with Taelon, you can double this amount. Each building you construct, and every upgrade that you build, consumes some amount of power (although some structures do not need power). The amount of power used by all of your structures is represented by a white horizontal bar on the power meter. If you do not have enough power to support all of your buildings, the power meter turns yellow and you go into low power mode. In low power mode, your mini-map will not work and all operations that your buildings perform—such as training units or firing on enemies—are slowed. You must bring your power level above the white bar in the power meter in order to restore functioning power to your base. You can do this in one of four ways:
Buildings consume power only once they are fully constructed. Also, remember that upgraded buildings frequently require more power than their lesser variants. It is wise to make sure you have enough power to spare for the desired structure before you begin construction or start an upgrade. Water MeterOn the right side is your water meter. The meter raises as you harvest fresh water from pure water springs and return it to a Water Launch Pad. The water meter shows the total amount of water in all of your Launch Pads. When one of your Launch Pads is full, the water in that pad is sold automatically and 3000 credits are added to your account. You can also sell the water early, before one of your pads is full, by clicking on the water meter. There is a 500 credit fee when you do this, so you must have at least 500 credits worth of water in your meter before this will work. Viewing Other TeamsAbove the resource meters is a grid of colored dots. You can press these little buttons to view the resource levels of your allies in multiplayer mode. This changes both your resource meter and credits display to show what the selected team has. You can also view the resources of your enemy if you park an Infiltrator in one of his resource storage buildings. |
