Sell

The sell cursor has two functions: selling existing buildings, and canceling construction of a structure that is presently in progress.

Selling Buildings

Selling a structure destroys the building and refunds some credits to your account. This can be used to gain credits quickly if you are in a tight financial situation. You can also sell unneeded buildings, or even sell a structure that is under attack and cannot be salvaged.

The deconstruction process takes an amount of time based on the building. The credits you receive for selling a structure depend on how much health the structure had left when it was sold. If you sell a building at full health, you receive roughly 37% of the cost of the building, give or take depending on the building. As the structure is damaged, that value decreases.

If you sell a structure that consumed the Construction Rig in the build process, you regain the Rig when the building is sold. Also, if you sell a Water Launch Pad or Power Generator, you get to keep the Freighter that came with it. On the other hand, if you sell an Advanced Phasing Facility, its Phase Transport disappears along with the building.

It is not possible to cancel the sale of a building once the demolition process has begun, so be sure you truly wish to sell the building before clicking the cursor on it.

Canceling Construction

The sell function can also be used to cancel a building that is presently under construction. This takes some amount of time, depending on how far along the construction was. Canceling construction returns to you the full value of the building and your Construction Rig.
