Q How much will Dark Reign Redux cost?: The Xbox 360 version of the game can be purchased on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points (about $5). The final prices for other versions have not yet been determined.
Q What is an RTS?: RTS is short for real-time strategy. This style of game usually features one or more resources that need to be harvested in order to fund a war effort. Players build a base, manage units, and execute strategies to overcome one or more opposing sides and gain victory. All sides plan and carry out their strategies simultaneously, creating an exciting, constantly changing situation.
Q How long is the single player campaign?: The single player campaign consists of 12 missions that can be played from the perspective of either the Freedom Guard or the Imperium, plus one final Togran mission.
Q How many factions are there in Dark Reign?: There are three factions involved in the galactic war: The Imperium, the Freedom Guard, and the Tograns.
Q What is the ESRB rating for Dark Reign?: Dark Reign Redux has not been rated by the ESRB. However the original game Dark Reign: The Future of War has received an ESRB rating of "Everyone." The game contains animated violence.

Q What platforms can I play Dark Reign Redux on?: The demo runs in Silverlight and can be played on any system that can execute Silverlight 3.0 applets. There is also an Xbox 360 version of the game. More platforms are planned for the future. Details on the controls for each system can be found in the Game Guide.
Q Why does the demo require storage space?: The Silverlight version uses storage space to install game assets such as unit files and maps. Installing these assets to your computer is required to create a smooth game experience.
Q What is Silverlight?: Silverlight is a web browser plug-in, similar to Flash, that allows rich interactive experiences directly in the web browser. Silverlight only needs to be installed once, so you may already have it on your computer. For more detailed information about Silverlight visit Microsoft.
Q Why does the log in ask me to use another provider?: Eventually, Dark Reign Redux will be hosted in Magnetar.Net, our online gaming community that is still under development. Players will be able to register with Magnetar.Net to play online in Dark Reign Redux multiplayer ladders, contribute maps and game resources, and participate in discussion forums. Until that time, currently we are providing login capabilities via public identity providers such as Windows Live ID, Yahoo, and Google. We will provide complete account and profile management functions in the future via Mangetar.Net.

Q How does Dark Reign Redux differ from the original game?: The changes have been kept to a minimum in order to maintain the original character of the game. The game should feel immediately familiar. More details can be found on the Features page.
Q Is the Construction Kit included?: The Construction Kit will be included in the full Silverlight version of Dark Reign Redux. The demo allows you to sample the Construction Kit but you cannot play the maps that you create.
Q Is the expansion pack (Rise of the Shadowhand) included?: Dark Reign Redux does not currently include the expansion pack content. We will look into the possibility of including this content in the future.
Q Are the patches included?: Many of the improvements made in patches are included in Dark Reign Redux; however, this is a separate patch branch from the original game, so the actual patch changes are different. See the patch notes for more details.
