These buildings extend the life of your infantry by healing their wounds and getting them back into fighting shape, at the cost of requiring the infantry to spend some time in the facility and out of combat. HealingThe Field Hospital heals infantry. Only one unit can enter the Hospital at a time, and healing takes a short amount of time, more or less depending on how wounded he was. While one infantry is being healed, others who have gone for healing gather in a line outside the building awaiting their turn. You can manually direct infantry to seek healing at the Hospital by selecting them and left-clicking the Hospital as their destination. The cursor will change to indicate the units will go for healing. Furthermore, troops can be instructed to go for healing automatically by adjusting their Damage Tolerance settings. When a unit is finished with its healing, it will move to the Hospital’s exit point. Units will not return to their previous locations, even if they went for healing automatically. Keep this in mind, because if you have infantry with their Damage Tolerance settings assigned to allow them to seek healing, your forces out on the field will gradually atrophy as units leave their posts to be healed, and they will pile up at the rally location instead of where they were previously assigned. As such, be sure to set the rally point of your Hospitals as necessary to control where your infantry gather, and check the rally point frequently to move any units there back to where they are needed. |
