Taelon Power Generators service power to all other structures in your base, allowing them to operate at maximum efficiency. Supplying PowerA newly-constructed Power Generator provides one notch worth of power on the power meter. Completely fill the structure with Taelon to double this output. You can view the current level of Taelon in the structure by looking at the vertical yellow meter next to the building that is visible when it is selected. Each Power Generator that you build also provides you with a Freighter. The Freighter will automatically begin harvesting Taelon when the construction completes if there is a node within the line of sight of one of your units. Once the Power Generator is full of Taelon, the Freighter will return with its load and have nowhere to store it, so it will sit on the Power Generator doing nothing. Be sure to check your Power Generators from time to time for idle Freighters. If you have the credits to spare, it is faster to build more Power Generators to supply your base with power than to try to harvest Taelon. You can use the free Freighters that come with the generators to harvest water instead. In a way, you can view this as spending 1000 credits for the Freighter and 1000 for the building all in one step. However, in the long run, harvesting Taelon is cheaper, so it all depends on your current situation and needs. |
