Dark Reign Redux

Patch v2.0 (Xbox)

These changes take effect only in the Xbox version of the game. In addition, the Xbox version also possesses all of the changes in the regular v2.0 patch.

  • Mission progression through the campaign is saved automatically in the player's Xbox LIVE profile.
  • When units go back to a Hospital or Repair Station for healing/repairs, after they are done, they return to their previous locations instead of the exit points on the buildings.
  • When an air unit rearms itself, it returns to its previous location instead of to the exit point of the Rearming Deck.
  • The default starting unit behaviors have been adjusted. Units normally move around with Independence on HIGH.
  • Assigning of unit behaviors changes the default behaviors (as well as those of the currently-selected units, if any) regardless of whether there are any units selected.
  • Shock Waves and Water Contaminators will never auto-attack regardless of Independence setting. (Use "Attack Ground" to order them to fire.)
  • Units will not automatically return to a Hospital/Repair Station for healing regardless of their Damage Tolerance setting if there is a Medic or a Mechanic around that is capable of healing them.
  • Repair mode is now a toggle. Buildings that are in repair mode do not exit repair mode until it is explicitly turned off by the player. This enables the player to set designated buildings to "auto-repair" whenever they take damage (assuming enough credits).
  • The player can construct buildings on top of his own units. The units move themselves out of the way automatically when the construction begins. (Enemy and allied team units still block construction.)
  • It is possible to construct buildings while having any number of Construction Rigs selected, as well as other types of units. The nearest Construction Rig is chosen from the group of selected units and sent to build the chosen facility.
  • It is possible to initiate construction of units or buildings while possessing insufficient credits. The construction/training begins and then is paused until the player obtains more credits.
  • For convenience, unit training queues can be manipulated even at structures that cannot produce them (when the icons are displayed in blue). All such interactions are treated in the same manner as when the player does not have a building selected.
  • Numerous optimizations for Freighters have been added to make them easier to use with less micro-management.
  • Some adjustments were made to the unit behavior to make them more efficient in mass brawls.
  • Mixed selections of infantry and vehicles can now be instructed to go to a Field Hospital or Repair Station and only the relevant units will respond.
  • Waypoints/Paths and Turn/Facing are presently not implemented using the Xbox controller. (However, temporary waypoints can be placed using the LB button.)
  • Statistics reported after a match have been improved to give more logical results. For example, destroying a building that consumes the Construction Rig will also count as destroying the Rig that constructed it.
