Transporting TroopsIt’s fast, can cross water, carries up to five infantry at once, and has a laser gun. What’s not to like about it? Granted, this shuttle, unlike those of the Freedom Guard, has no method of hiding itself, and so it stands out like a sore thumb. But when is that a problem when you can go in with guns blazing? The Troop Transport is semi-durable against infantry, but it is not a straight-up tank. Since you can’t use one to sneak into the enemy base (except perhaps across water), a better method of getting your troops safely to their destinations might be to distract the enemy instead. Either attack first with a side force of tanks, or bring in several decoy Invader Troop Transports to confuse the foe and absorb fire so that your real ones can discharge their units. As with all units and structures that have a hold, remember that you can load units into the transport by selecting them and then clicking on the transport. To unload, select the transport and then click on it to eject all of its units. You can hold Ctrl and left-click the transport to eject just one unit at a time. Units are ejected in the reverse order that they are loaded. |
