CombatFor a general-purpose army, it’s useful to mix Raiders with Mercenaries to get some extra firepower. The Raiders have fewer hit points and will do less damage to vehicles; however, they are half the cost and deal equal damage against enemy infantry. Adding in some Mercenaries with your Raiders will enable you to better handle any vehicles that come along, as well as making it faster to take out enemy bases. Of course, the exact percentage of Raiders to Mercenaries should depend on the ratio of infantry to vehicles that you are facing. When using large groups of infantry, don’t forget the x key to scatter your troops when they are being besieged by weapons that do splash damage or by Shredders. It is also frequently useful to hit the Stop command from time to time in order to allow the units to evaluate new targets. The Mercenary also possesses the ability to phase once the player possesses a Phasing Facility. |
