Versatile CombatSkirmish Tanks may be the most basic tank available to the Freedom Guard side, but they enjoy many benefits that numerous other units lack, such as a relatively fast movement speed, the ability to hit both ground and air, and a weapon which does full damage against both infantry and vehicles. Skirmish Tanks ever-so-slightly outrange Laser Turrets and Plasma Turrets; however, it takes careful maneuvering to get them to make use of this range. Frequently the tanks will wander into range of the turrets first, and then open fire. If you micromanage them sufficiently, however, you can safely destroy turrets from outside their attack range. (Skirmish Tanks do not, however, outrange Neutron Accelerators or Heavy Rail Platforms, so they are not necessarily the best choice to take up against these advanced defensive structures.) If anything bad could be said about the Skirmish Tank, it’s that its health is not that great, so it is not overly durable in battle. It also moves on tank treads, so there are certain types of terrain that it simply cannot navigate. Even so, the Skirmish Tank makes a good staple for any army. |
